Evangelism Made Easy - Consistent Effort

We are continuing this week with Evangelism Made Easy and we are going to talk about consistent effort. Let's look in Mark chapter 5 and we will see the example of Jesus and how he evangelized.

This chapter gives us 3 examples of Jesus out among the people showing them love and compassion. It begins with him delivering a man with an unclean spirit, then he heals a woman who had suffered for 12 years while on his way to raise Jairus's daughter from the dead. Simply put Jesus gave of himself to win the lost. He saw their need, met the need and then they wanted to follow him.

I like what Jesus said to the man with the unclean spirit after he was delivered and wanted Jesus to stay with him...let's look at verse 19.....

Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him. "Go home to thy friends and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee".

Last week we talked about how that the greatest tool that a person in Network Marketing has is their own personal success story or experience and how that in Evangelism the greatest tool we have to use is our own personal testimony. Well in Mark 5:19 we have Jesus instructing this man to do that very thing. GO HOME AND TELL WHAT THE LORD HATH DONE FOR THEE.

The problem is that Christians are not out among the world sharing their testimony. Let's face it most of us won't even stand up among fellow Christians in a church service and testify. If we are going to win the lost for Christ we must find our voice once again and noise abroad with the excitement of a first love, what Christ has done for us.

The best person to Evangelize for Christ is a new convert. Why? Because they have the excitement and passion for Christ because of what they have been delivered from and they want to tell everyone about their new found freedom.

Do you remember the first time you fell in love. How you talked about your new love like they were the greatest thing on the planet. You talked about them constantly...how awesome they were, every word they spoke was as brilliant as an academy award performance, every deed they did was right up there with the greatest humanitarian...simply put...they were fantastic and you wanted the whole world to know.

How much more should we as Christians who have been brought out of the pit of sin and delivered from a life of torment...be talking about Christ to everyone we meet. Jesus died for us. He defeated death, hell and the grave so that you and I don't have to face the awful punishment for our sins. How can we go even one day without finding someone to tell about Jesus?

In network marketing consistent effort is the first principle to building your business. In evangelism...consistent effort is the first principle to enlarging the Kingdom of God. Simply put you must consistently be in front of prospects for the Kingdom showing them Jesus not only by what you say, but also by your actions.

As an independent jewelry representative every time I go out in public I dress nice, wear some of the jewelry and always have catalogs, business cards, brochures etc to give out. I am always ready for any opportunity. Funny thing is...99% of the time I do not have to mention my business...people see the jewelry and comment about it and there is my open door! When I talk about Premier Designs Jewelry I am upbeat and excited and share how Premier Designs has enabled me to fulfill my dream of being a stay at home mom. If you are excited and have a personal experience, people want to listen to you.

Question....when we go out among the world...do people see enough Jesus in us to comment? Whether we open our mouths and mention Jesus or not...can they see Him in us? We want people to know Him but I believe they need to see Him first in us before they will want to know Him!

As blood bought children of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords we have no reason to hang our heads. We should be out there with a smile on our face and spring in our step, showing the Love of Christ to everyone we meet. Get up everyday and seek the face of God in prayer and study of the Word...then go out and show Jesus.

Meet their need and then you have an open door to their heart. How?

If someone needs food...give them food.
If someone needs clothing....give them clothes.
If someone needs shelter...provide them shelter.
If someone is crying...give them your shoulder to cry on.
If someone needs to talk...give them your ears and undivided attention.
If someone needs compassion...show them compassion.

Maybe there is a single mother or father that could use some time away from the kids for a few hours...offer to take care of their kids for them. Maybe there is an elderly person who cannot get out...take them a meal and spend time with them. Maybe there is someone who can't clean their house because of physical difficulties...go clean their house, or mow their lawn, or run their errands etc. You get the idea. Don't ask them for anything in return. They could hire someone to do what you are doing for them...Jesus gave freely and we should do the same as His representatives.

Once you have done something for them and ask nothing in return...they will want to know why you are doing it? Therein lies your opportunity to say...."There is a man named Jesus who one day took my place on an old rugged cross willingly so that I could have eternal life and not have to pay the penalty for the sin that was in my life. Asking nothing in return He freely gave and because of what He did for me I desire to represent Him by doing for others freely". You may not see the fruit of your labor immediately but be consistent and one day you will see the results.

Look for every opportunity...in the check out line...at the park...in the waiting room at the doctor's office...and on and on. Listen to others around you...you will hear and see who needs Jesus. You may not be able to do something for every person you meet, however 99 times out of 100 you will have an opportunity to say something about Jesus before you leave their presence.

Please remember....we are not talking about a religion but a relationship!!!!!!

So this coming week....get out there among the people and consistently take advantage of every opportunity to represent Christ and to share His love with others.

Next week we will be talking about the principle of duplication.

See You In The Word,

Janetta

    --Thanks for that, Janetta.
I am in an unusual situation now at work. On April 6, my supervisor told me that my last day would be April 30. So I have to go into the office every day with my head held up and a smile on my face because I KNOW that God will provide for me because HE IS MY SOURCE! I pray that I am a witness to the ladies in the office that even though I do not have the answers for what my next job will look like, I am holding up the shield of faith!
My Life Verses are Psalm 31:14-15b ~ "But I trust in you, O Lord; I say, 'You are my God.' My times are in Your hands."
    Either I believe it or I don't....
I choose to believe and show others the Peace that passes all understanding!

  2. Hi Janetta!
I HAVE to post and tell everyone what God did for me!! :D :D
On April 23, one week before my last day on the 30th...the owner came in to the office. Now in most offices, this would or could be normal. The owners of the company where I work at live in Australia!!! They come about once a quarter. We received an email on Wednesday the 21st, that the wife of the husband and wife team, was coming in in 2 days and wanted to meet with everyone in a one-to-one meeting. I thought, well...she won't be meeting with me, because I am gone in a week...
She met with the supervisors first, one-on-one. Then, the next thing I know is she is coming straight to me and asking me "if I had time to meet with her." :D I went into the conference room and she shut the door. She said that she knows that I was leaving and she was sad to hear that...Then she looked me straight in the eyes and said that she wanted me to stay!!!
Long story short, without me talking about the situation in my office, without me manufacturing a scheme, without me manipulating people, my co-workers and other supervisors went to my defense and said that I was a hard worker and would she "hire me back"!!!!!
I DID stay and change in my working atmosphere is 180°!!
The morning before April 6th, when my supervisor told me my last day was the 30th, the Lord gave me the Scripture ~ Ps. 5:12 "For surely, O Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with Your favor as with a shield."
The ladies in the office witnessed all of this and knew that it was God, not me orchestrating this.
    Praise God!
